Mourinho glad to be grey ahead of Bayern decider

José Mourinho may have masterminded a 2-1 victory against FC Barcelona at the weekend, but the Real Madrid CF coach is keen to remind his players that the season "is a marathon and you must always run fast". The next bump in the road comes in the shape of FC Bayern München, who are 2-1 up going into Wednesday's UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg, but coach Jupp Heynckes is only too wary of the threat posed by the Merengues.

I don't want to ask anything of our supporters, they must give to the players what they think the players deserve. The most important thing is to know what kind of team, players and style you have. You must accentuate your strengths and hide what's not positive. We defend our ideas and we know what we want to do and how to do it. I also know what Bayern want to do. If they don't score, they will be out. I think they will score.

The match against Barcelona will mean nothing if we don't win the championship. This is a marathon. We are going to try to reach the final, these players deserve it. Bayern are a great team, the coach is good and they have the right to think they are going to play the final. They have the strength of a team.

I see my players excited about this semi-final like my Inter players were two years ago before the semi-final against Barcelona. It's not about their age, it's about the UEFA Champions League. They just want to win it. These years in Madrid are a rich experience and it is making me a better coach. I have been working in different countries with different mentalities, different players. We can win two titles, one or none. It's this excitement of football that turns my hair grey.

On Wednesday night we will witness the creme de la creme of football games. In terms of tradition both teams are fantastic and for that reason it will be very even. If we think about what Real Madrid did in the Clásico at the weekend, that says an awful lot. They have rarely won [in Barcelona] in recent years but they did so this time.

Tomorrow might be even more difficult than we had envisaged because of what we saw on Saturday in Barcelona. I know the stadium from my time here and am aware the atmosphere will be very special. I have positive memories from here. It was very difficult to be coach of Madrid back then, just as I am sure it is today. I realised after I won the Champions League here just how much of an obsession it was for everyone involved with Madrid and all their fans.

Madrid need to score but we know we are also capable of doing so at any moment. We will see how things develop during the 90 minutes and – if it goes that far – extra time. Madrid have great attacking potential but so do my team. We have to acknowledge, though, that Madrid have now scored 109 goals in their league and have something like 150 in all competitions. They have great attacking potential and we will need to take this into account.

Schweinsteiger urges Bayern on to front foot

Bastian Schweinsteiger says it is imperative that FC Bayern München try to quell the atmosphere at the Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday.

The Bundesliga team hold a tentative 2-1 advantage over Real Madrid CF in the UEFA Champions League semi-final after Mario Gomez's 90th-minute winner in Munich last week. It was a hard-fought victory, and Schweinsteiger anticipates an even tougher night's work in the Spanish capital.

"We expect them to come at us so we will have to work hard defensively," the 27-year-old said. "The home supporters will be full of emotion and screaming their team on, which will play a part. If we're playing well in the first 20 minutes, though, they will calm down and that has to be our aim. I feel we must score; I think we will."

The Germany midfielder has endured an injury-ravaged season, fracturing a collarbone in September before picking up an ankle knock. It is nights like these, he says, that sustained him through the dark times. "I knew we would have a lot of important matches towards the end of the season, which brought extra motivation for me to get back to fitness as quickly as possible," he said.

"I have been involved in very important games before and this is up there with the best of them. Of course, you feel a great sense of responsibility but we have many experienced players in our team and they will carry that responsibility too; everyone must contribute to the cause."

Bayern's slender hopes of regaining the Bundesliga were dashed at the weekend as Borussia Dortmund captured their second successive title. Schweinsteiger says that will act as a spur rather than an impediment; indeed, with seven players a booking away from missing any final, keeping enthusiasm in check may be more the issue.

"The main thing will be not to get shown a silly yellow," he said. "If it happens then let it be a question of bad luck. The players on yellows are aware of the situation but it isn't something you can have at the forefront of your mind while playing a match of this magnitude." At an expectant Bernabéu, Bayern have enough to worry about.

Σαριέγκι: «Θετικό το +4»

Μετά το τέλος της κλήρωσης ο Γιόσου Σαριέγκι από πλευράς Παναθηναϊκού δήλωσε: «Είναι δύσκολο να παίξεις 6 παιχνίδια σε 18 μέρες αλλά είναι θετικό ότι ξεκινάμε με 4 βαθμούς».


Αθανασιάδης: «Να καλύψουμε τη διαφορά»

Ο Κλάους Αθανασιάδης για λογαριασμό του ΠΑΟΚ είπε: «Πρέπει να καλύψουμε το χαμένο έδαφος. Είναι σημαντικό που ο Παναθηναϊκός ξεκινάει με 4 βαθμούς. Το σημαντικό είναι να παρουσιαστούμε όπως πρέπει. Είναι καλό που ξεκινάμε στην έδρα μας και θα έχουμε και τον κόσμο στο πλευρό μας».


Μάκος: «Στόχος η πρώτη θέση»

Την ΑΕΚ εκπροσώπησε ο Γρηγόρης Μάκος λέγοντας: «Οι τελευταίες εμφανίσεις μας δεν ήταν ικανοποιητικές. Είχαμε πολλές απουσίες. Στο πρώτο παιχνίδι που είναι στην Τούμπα είναι από τα πιο δύσκολα, ενώ ο Παναθηναϊκός παίζει εντός με τον Ατρόμητο. Στόχος μας είναι η πρώτη θέση. Η χρονιά ήταν πολύ δύσκολη. Είμαστε σε μία αβεβαιότητα και δεν ξέρουμε τι μας ξημερώνει αύριο. Θέλουμε να υπάρξει μια λύση και καλύτερες μέρες. Νομίζω ότι όλα τα παιδιά έχουν καταλάβει τη σημασία».


Τάτος: «Μπορούμε και στα πλέι οφ»

Τέλος ο Ανδρέας Τάτος του Ατρομήτου δήλωσε: «Εμείς έχουμε αποδείξει τι μπορούμε να κάνουμε. Φτάσαμε ψηλά στο πρωτάθλημα και μπορούμε να παίξουμε στα play offs».

Ο Σπάθας στο ΟΑΚΑ!

Ο Ηλίας Σπάθας από τον σύνδεσμο Πειραιά, θα σφυρίξει τον τελικό του Κυπέλλου Ελλάδος ανάμεσα στον Ολυμπιακό και τον Ατρόμητο, το Σάββατο στο ΟΑΚΑ.

Από την Κεντρική Επιτροπή Διαιτησίας αναοινώθηκαν οι διαιτητές, οι βοηθοί διαιτητές και ο παρατηρητής διαιτησίας που ορίστηκαν να διευθύνουν τον τελικό αγώνα του Κυπέλλου Ελλάδας 2011-2012, στις 28/4/2012 ανάμεσα στον Ολυμπιακό και τον Ατρόμητο.

Ο Ηλίας Σπάθας του συνδέσμου Πειραιά θα είναι ο άρχοντας του αγώνα, έχοντας για βοηθούς τους Δημήτρη Σαραϊδάρη και Λεωνίδα Βασιλειάδη του συνδέσμου Μακεδονίας, ενώ τέταρτος διαιτητής θα είναι ο Θανάσης Γιάχος από την Χίο. Παρατηρητής διαιτησίας ορίστηκε ο Μιχάλης Καλαθένος από τα Δωδεκάνησα.

Mε Μήτρογλου, Τάτο στον τελικό!

Ο Γιώργος Δώνης μίλησε με Μήτρογλου και Τάτο που του άναψαν το «πράσινο φως» για τη συμμετοχή στον σαββατιάτικο τελικό του Κυπέλλου κόντρα στον Ολυμπιακό!

Ο προπονητής του Ατρομήτου συναντήθηκε με τους δύο ποδοσφαιριστές του, που είναι δανεικοί στο Περιστέρι από τον Ολυμπιακό και τους ζήτησε τι έχουν σκοπό να κάνουν στον τελικό του Σαββάτου.


Και οι δύο του απάντησαν ότι δεν έχουν κανένα πρόβλημα να παίξουν στο Ολυμπιακό Στάδιο, παρά τη σχέση που έχουν με τους ερυθρόλευκους και έθεσαν τον εαυτό τους στη διάθεση του Γιώργου Δώνη. Ετσι ο Ατρόμητος θα πάει χωρίς προβλήματα στον τελικό του Κυπέλλου, προκειμένου να διεκδικήσει με ίσους όρους την κατάκτηση του τροπαίου.

Με magic bus στον τελικό!

Το λεωφορείο στην εστία του Τσεχ, η «μαγεία» του Ραμίρες και το... τελειώμα του Τόρες έστειλε την συγκλονιστική Tσέλσι (2-2) στο Μόναχο. Χαμένο πέναλτι και δοκάρι ο Μέσι! Με 10 οι Άγγλοι από το 37' !

Στο πιο συγκλονιστικό ματς της σεζόν οι Μπλε πήραν ιστορική πρόκριση επί των Καταλανών στο «Καμπ Νόου». Με μία απίστευτα ψυχωμένη και ultra αμυντική εμφάνιση οι παίκτες του Ντι Ματέο παρότι βρέθηκαν δέκα από το 37' (ηλίθια αποβολή του Τέρι) και να χάνουν 2-0 από το 44', μπήκαν στο κόλπο με γκολάρα-λόμπα του Ραμίρες (2-1) στις καθυστερήσεις του πρώτου μέρους και αφού ο Μέσι είχε χαμένο πέναλτι στο δοκάρι στο 57' και νέο δοκάρι στο 83' ο Τόρες έφυγε σε αντεπίθεση στις καθυστερήσεις και με το τελικό 2-2 πήρε το στέμμα από την πρωταθλήτρια Ευρώπης.

Η Μπαρτσελόνα ήταν άτυχη να χάσει 1-0 στο πρώτο ματς, η Τσέλσι στα τρία πρώτα ημίχρονα είχε κάνει μόνο δύο σουτ που έγιναν γκολ, ο Τέρι αποβλήθηκε για πρώτη φορά σε 85 ματς, ο Μέσι έχασε το πρώτο του πέναλτι και ο Τόρες πέτυχε το γκολ Νο5 σε 6 αγώνες στο «Καμπ Νόου» και όποια ομάδα κέρδισε το πρώτο ματς με τον τελικό να γίνεται στο Μόναχο πήρε το εισιτήριο για την Βαυαρία. Αυτό είναι με αριθμούς το στόρι με το οποίο επιβεβαιώθηκε ο κανόνας που θέλει την ομάδα που έχει κατακτήσει το Champions League να μην διατηρεί τον τίτλο.
